What is the Unit Converter?

The FinanceDeck Unit Converter handles the three unit conversions most people need day-to-day: length between metric and imperial, weight between kg and lb, and temperature between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Pick a category, type a number, get the answer.

Great for online shopping (US clothing sizes, appliance dimensions), following recipes from foreign sources, or interpreting weather forecasts abroad.

How does it work?

The calculator uses standard conversion constants: 1 in = 2.54 cm, 1 kg = 2.20462 lb, °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Related outputs (m, ft; g, oz; K) are shown alongside the primary result.

Because it runs client-side, results are instant and never leave your device. It also works offline once the page has loaded.

Formula
Length: cm × (1/2.54) = in; Weight: kg × 2.20462 = lb; Temp: °C × 9/5 + 32 = °F

Example

100 cm equals 39.37 inches, 1 metre, or 3.28 feet.

For 30°C, Fahrenheit is 86°F and Kelvin is 303.15 K — handy when reading US weather forecasts or scientific data.

Benefits

  • Three most-used conversion families in one place
  • Related units shown together
  • Zero data stored
  • Works offline once loaded
  • Free forever

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Fahrenheit still used?

The US retained imperial units for consumer use. Science globally uses Celsius or Kelvin.

Is 1 kg exactly 2.2 lb?

The exact factor is 2.20462. 2.2 is a good approximation but drifts by 0.2% over large weights.

Can I add more units?

The tool covers common needs. For niche unit conversions (miles per gallon, pascals, etc.), a specialised tool is better.

Does it convert cooking units?

Not yet — cups vs. grams depends on the ingredient, so a generic conversion would be misleading.
